Inspired by the nature of Finland's national epic, the Kalevala, Helsinki's Klaus K hotel bears the stamp of Finlands finest architectural and literary traditions.
Klaus K aspires to 'take the hotel out of the hotel' and create a space that offers inspiration to guests. Last August, a competition was launched on Facebook in order to find new ideas to transform the lobby and bar into an informal hangout space: Klaus K LIVINGROOM. Amongst many entries, Jukka Juhola's project 'HomeWork' was retained. The result is a cozy library and workspace well connected to the ground floor bar with a glass staircase.
